Account Executive
LOCATION: San Francisco, New York City/Northern New Jersey, Chicago, Washington D.C.
We are looking for candidates who would classify themselves as hunters: Successful candidates will have to show a track record of success in a resource constrained environment. We are looking for sales people who have who have thrived when asked to do their own strategic planning, prospecting, negotiating and closing strategic business with multiple six and seven figure deals.
We are looking for sales executives who can operate out of a home based-office or executive suite with opportunities in NY/Northern NJ, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC or our corporate offices in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Use market knowledge, analytical skills, evangelism, product knowledge and outstanding communication and presentation skills to sell Groxis offerings to prospects and customers.
- Seek business in identified market areas, orchestrate customer visits, analyze prospect's business requirements, present proposed business solutions and demonstrate product.
- Exhibit creativity in sourcing new business.
- Evaluate market needs and communicate new business requirements to engineering to guide Groxis in future product development.
- Define and clarify prospect expectations and ensure smooth sales cycle.
- Some travel required.
Requirements
- 2-7 years of enterprise software related sales experience with demonstrated past overachievement relative to sales & quota goals.
- Bachelors or equivalent from a top accredited University.
- Demonstrated knowledge of desktop/consumer/retail enterprise software solutions.
- Ability to evangelize, effectively influence and negotiate.
- Understand and can execute solution selling methodologies
- Strong communications (written and verbal) and presentation skills.

Data Connectivity Engineer
Groxis is looking for an exceptional talent to join our team as a Data Connectivity Engineer. The Data Connectivity Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of server side components that integrate new data sources into the Grokker product suite. This engineer will work as a key member of the core engineering team to facilitate the visualization of many different sources of information including Web services, databases, file systems, as well as various kinds of enterprise data repositories. The Data Connectivity Engineer will focus on extending the functionality of the core system by exploiting Groxis’ Plugin Architecture by building plugins that augment the system.
New Plugins translate directly into new revenue opportunities for Groxis. The successful candidate for this high visibility position will realize the potential of adding Plugins to the product and will combine passion, enthusiasm and drive with superb technical skills to greatly accelerate the production of new Plugins.
Authoring data connectivity plugins requires strong Java (J2SE/J2EE) skills, XML, Web Services and general web protocol savvy. The position also requires the skills to work with 3rd party APIs and software (i.e. strong problem solving ability) as well as to work with external entities and partners.
Building Grokker plugins is not simply a data routing and transformation exercise. The art of building plugins requires looking deeper into the Information Architecture of the data source. Understanding the structure and relationships of the information, as well as envisioning how to exploit metadata to augment the basic data are key skills for the Data Connectivity Engineer. The Data Connectivity Engineer will combine their expert knowledge of the Groxis system with insight into new data sources to deliver the best information exploration and comprehension experience for Groxis users.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience of software development
- 3+ years of experience programming in Java (J2SE/J2EE)

System Architect
Groxis is looking for an exceptional talent to join our team as an expert System Architect. The System Architect will be responsible for defining the overall architecture for Groxis' new multi–tier systems. The successful candidate will be able to integrate Java server based technologies to support a variety of client platforms (ranging from full featured Java applets to lightweight AJAX style clients).
This is an exciting time to join Groxis. Having started off with a pure desktop offering, Groxis just recently launched a web based version of grokker (www.grokker.com). Lead UI Engineer

Groxis is looking for an exceptional talent to join our team as a Lead UI/Rich-Client Engineer. This person will be responsible for all aspects of the rich-client component of Groxis's enterprise web application. Groxis desires that rare person who can discuss the finer points of user-interface design and usability, then switch to hard-core software development without missing a beat. This person will not only design significant portions of the next-generation Grokker interface, but will be responsible for the implementation of it, delegating and coordinating with junior UI engineers as well. The successful candidate will work closely with the server-side software engineers to rapidly iterate through the software-development lifecycle, bringing new features, functions and releases quickly to market.
The Grokker® rich-client interface employs a very sophisticated mix of AJAX technologies and Java applets. In addition there are traditional (D)HTML web applications to be developed and maintained. Also, we employ both the Spring Framework and Taconite in client and server components, so a healthy knowledge of Spring is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate is excited working in a start-up environment. This person must possess both technical acumen and excellent communication skills. Flexibility, cooperation, and problem-solving are all a must. The successful candidate must also "get their hands dirty" working closely with core engineering, QA, and configuration engineers on technical details of all aspects of the Groxis's products.
