FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Francisco, CA – July 14, 2007 /Business Wire/ — Groxis, a leading provider in federated search, visualization and discovery, announced today that the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) has appointed Randall Marcinko, Groxis CEO, to a one-year seat on its board of directors.
The Software and Information Industry Association is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry. SIIA provides global services in government relations, business development, corporate education and intellectual property protection to the leading companies that are setting the pace for the digital age.
"I am delighted to be able to serve alongside such a prestigious group of directors," said Randall Marcinko, Groxis CEO. "After years of reaping the rewards of membership in SIIA, I am anxious to take a more active role as a director. It is an exciting challenge and I look forward to contributing and sharing my perspectives as a member of both the content and software divisions."
As CEO of Groxis, as well as founder of MEI, a services organization specializing in the monetization of publishers' digital assets, Mr. Marcinko brings to the SIIA board over 20 years of senior-level leadership, strategy and advisory experience in the information industry.
Aligned with SIIA's recent NetGain conference which provided a unique perspective on the software and content industries' convergence to enable the enterprise to access applications and content, Mr. Marcinko's background lends him the ability to contribute valuable insight to the SIIA board from both perspectives. The SIIA board of directors also includes distinguished executives from companies such as Oracle, Thomson Reuters, IBM and Dow Jones Enterprise Media Group.
"Randy has been a major contributor to SIIA's Content Division, and as the B2B content industry grapples with the fundamental changes in delivery technology, Randy is uniquely positioned to help the SIIA provide programming addressing those changes", said Ken Wasch, SIIA President.
SIIA's principal mission is to promote the common interests of the software and digital content industry as a whole, protect the intellectual property of member companies, advocating for a legal and regulatory environment that benefits the entire industry, and to inform and educate the broader public by serving as a resource on trends, technologies and policies affecting the industry.
